Bishoo is lone Guyanese in West Indies 50-over squad

The West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) Selection Panel has announced the 13-man squad for the first and second matches of the One-Day International  Series against Pakistan at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, which sees   leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo as the lone local in the squad.

Bishoo, was a part of the squad that lost 0-3 to England just last month, prior to which, the same quad was defeated by an identical margin in the  away series to Pakistan in the U.A.E.

The home side will be entering  the 50-over format after losing the T20 series 3-1 on Sunday at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago.

Both teams are set to arrive at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport today at 13:55 hrs.  On Tuesday, they will be have practice sessions at the National Stadium.

West Indies Squad: Jason Holder (Captain),  Devendra Bishoo,  Jonathan Carter, Miguel Cummins, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell, Rovman Powell and Chadwick Walton.

The first ODI is slated for Friday April 7 while the second and third are scheduled for Sunday April 9 and Tuesday April 11 respectively; all matches will be played in the day commencing at 9:30am

Tickets for the matches cost $4,000 for Red and Green Stands, $3,000 for the Orange and $2,000 for the grass mound.

Tickets can be bought at the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Regent Road Office any day between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm.
