Guyana Jaguars gets hammered in 50 over opener
Guyana Jaguars were condemned to a 145-run hammering on Tuesday evening by Barbados Pride in their opening day/night match of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Super50 at the Kensington Oval.
Set a daunting 303 to win from their allotted overs, the Jaguars could only muster 157 in 32 overs and that meant that the home side was able to gain a bonus point for the thumping victory.

Jaguars in a bid to win their first 50-over title since 2005, was immediately put on the  back foot as talented opener Shimron Hetmyer fell for duck in the first over attempting a pull of the bowling of medium pacer  Jason Holder.
Rajendra Chandrika (10) fell soon after edging left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn to slip, which was followed by Assad Fudadin (18) and the visitors slipped to 63-3 in 19th overs.
Only Captain Leon Johnson (55) with his ninth List A half-century offered any resistance as no other batsmen was able to pass 20.
West Indies off-spinner Ashely Nurse (4-42) and Benn (4-35) wreaked havoc in a discipline bowling performance with the ball.
Earlier, Pride won the toss and decided to take first strike and got off to a positive start with openers Kraigg Braithwaite and Anthony Alleyne attacking  the new ball.
Alleyne was the first to fall for 20 off the bowling of Veerasammy Permaul in the 9th over. Permaul then brought success for the Jaguars once more when he had Shai Hope (09) out leg before and the home side was 70-2 in the 19th over.

Jaguars had an opportunity to get rid of Braithwaite when he was on 46 as Devendra Bishoo dropped him at square leg off the bowling of Steven Jacobs, with the score on 90-2.
From then on, it was smooth sailing for the Bajans as Brathwaite reached his half-century off 84 balls with six fours while Johnathon Carter played the attacking role.
Carter, hit the first six of the innings when he slog/sweep high over backward square leg off the bowling off Bishoo to take Pride to 150-2 in the 32nd over.
Next over, the left-hander took a single to reach his fifty off 47 balls with five fours and one six.
The West Indies player continued to grow in confidence as he hit Permaul over long-on for another six then over long-on  in  the same over to bring up the century partnership.
The break through eventually came when Carter attempted a hook off the bowing off Raymon Reifer and fell for a well-played 62-ball 75 (5x4s;4x6s) and the men in blue were now 192-3 in the 38th over.
Captain Holder was next to the crease and made a brisk 31 but the attention was on  Brathwaite  as he nearing his maiden List A century and reached the milestone  with a single down to long-on.
His century took 144 balls and included seven fours and one six; the right-hander eventually fell in the 47th over for 101 and his side now 253-6.
The innings eventually came to a close when Ashely Nurse was run-out for an attacking 28 on the last ball.
Permaul 2-56 and Bishoo 2-65 were the main wicket takers for Guyana; Braithwaite was adjudged Man-of-the match.
