New Jamaican PM to swear in new cabinet on Monday

(Jamaica Observer)  KINGSTON, Jamaica — The new Government ministers are expected to be sworn in on Monday, March 7, at King’s House in St Andrew. Several lists of proposed members of the soon to be formed Cabinet were being circulated after the Jamaica Labour Party electoral victory, forcing Andrew Holness, to take to his Facebook page to set the record straight.

“I know many of you are excited about the advent of a new Labour Party-led government. Part of this excitement has led to the circulation of several lists of proposed members of the soon to be formed Cabinet,” Holness’ post read.

“Some of these lists have even been thought to be real,” the post continued. “I therefore wanted to take two minutes to remind you that no list has yet been produced by my office, and that the relevant announcements will be made in a timely manner, once I have been sworn in as your new prime minister.”

Holness was sworn in a day later as prime minister of Jamaica
