Twenty-eight-year-old Cuban national, Yoel Rodrigues has been remanded to jail for the murder of 34-year-old Tara Krishnaran and her 11-year-old daughter.

The Cuban national who went on the run just after the double murder was arrested earlier this week in Linden.

In Court today, he was not required to enter a plea to the two murder charges.

The man showed no signs of emotions as he stood before the Chief Magistrate and listened to the charges being read.

The Court was told that sometime between the night of December 25 and the morning of December 26, Rodrigues murdered the mother and daughter in the woman’s Princes Street, Lodge home.

After listening to the facts of the case, the Magistrate remanded the accused to prison until early January when he will make a next Court appearance.
