The quick thinking of a licensed firearm holder saved a woman who was being chased by two bandits in the Kitty area this afternoon.

According to reports, the licensed firearm holder shot both men while rushing to the woman’s rescue in the William Street, Kitty area.

The men attempted to retreat after being shot but both collapsed.

One of the men collapsed in a yard and was seen crying out for pain before eventually taking his last breath. He appeared to have been shot more than once.

The other suspect was on the parapet of the same yard crying out for his injuries. The Police and Paramedics were summoned to the scene.

Paramedics officially pronounced the man inside the yard dead and rushed the other man to the hospital. The identity of the two men is still to be ascertained but some persons in the area claimed that one of the men appear to be a convict who might have been recently released from prison.

The Guyana Police Force has cordoned off the area and has launched a probe.
