Police seeking two “known characters” over murder of Durban St. businessman

Two men, who have been described as known characters to the Police, are being pursued as investigations continue into the murder of Durban Street businessman Shimron Adams.

The 41-year-old man was shot dead on Monday night as he was closing his store at the corner of Durban and Chapel Streets.

Investigators are probing the case as a robbery and murder. The businessman was reportedly stripped of his jewellery and money after he was shot.

Contacted on Wednesday, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told News Source that the Police will likely issue wanted bulletins soon for the two main suspects in the murder case.

Investigators have also been reviewing CCTV camera footage from the area and have also been questioning persons who were nearby when the attack occurred.

The businessman opened late on the Boxing Day holiday and had reportedly hosted a group of friends over at his shop for a hang earlier in the day.

Persons who may have additional information about the robbery and murder could contact the Criminal Investigations Department with the details.
