Port Kaituma man charged and granted bail over sexual activity with 14-year-old girl

A Port Kaituma man appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today where he was slapped with a charge of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.

It is alleged that the man fondled the girl’s breast and sucked on her neck.

The accused, Fernand Hernandez, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate, Sherdel Issacs-Marcus alongside his attorney, Dexter Todd.

The Court heard that on the 2nd June at Canal Bank, Port Kaituma, the accused engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.

Following the man’s advances, the young girl reported the incident to her parents and a report was made. He was arrested and charged.

Bail was granted in the sum of $250,000, however, the accused will have to report to a Police station every Friday until the completion of the matter. He is expected back in Court on June 15.
