Sophia man remanded after charged for manslaughter in bicycle row stabbing death

The Sophia man who stabbed his friend to death during an argument over a bicycle, appeared in Court today and was charged for manslaughter.

The incident took place on October 18 in the Sophia community.  31-year-old, Darious Barrington, reportedly stabbed his fellow Sophia resident Seon Harry to death after Harry reportedly charged at him.

The Court heard that Harry had borrowed Barrington’s bicycle but failed to return it in a timely manner. When he returned it the following morning, the two men got into an argument at the time.

Later the same day, it is alleged that Harry attacked Barrington with a cutlass, resulting in older man being chopped about the body. In retaliation, it is alleged that the accused, armed himself with a knife and stabbed Harry to death.

At the hearing today, bail was refused and Barrington will make his next Court appearance in the new month.
