A Surinamese woman will be facing drug trafficking charges in the local Courts in the new week after she was busted in the Corentyne area with a quantity of cocaine and ecstasy pills in her possession.

The woman’s name has not been released but she has been described as a hairdresser from Parimaribo, Suriname.

The bust was made on Saturday morning at the backtrack river crossing.

Investigating ranks found 247 grams of suspected cocaine and 100 grams of ecstasy (192 pills) stashed in the woman’s bra.

The 27 year-old was immediately arrested.  An investigation is underway.
