Three men charged for stealing $5 million in cash and ammunition from parked car

At the Georgetown Magistrates Court today, three men were slapped with charges related to a $5 million heist.

The three, Alwin Solomon, Asif Khan and Winston Greyman, denied stealing $5 Million in Cash along with several other items.

The men are all public transportation operators and entered not guilty pleas.

The Court heard that on the 26th February at Alexander Street, Lacytown, they stole $5 million in cash, one Laptop Bag, 40 live 9mm rounds along with a cell phone, bringing the total heist to $5.3 million.

It was further alleged that one of the accused, Winston Greyman was found with 40 live 9mm rounds in his possession.

He also pleaded not guilty to that charge.

Police Prosecutor, Arvin Moore objected to bail citing the seriousness of the offence, and the fact that some of the cash was found in a car belonging to one of the accused along with ammunition.

The Court learnt that on the day of the incident, a man secured his car with the money and other items as he visited a store.

When he returned to his car, he discovered that it had been broken into and several of his belongings including the money was missing.

Acting on intelligence and information received, investigators were able to track down and arrest the three suspects.

An Attorney representing the interests of the three men pleaded for bail, but that was ignored and they were all remanded to jail until later this month, when the matter will come up again.
