According to a Police statement, the teen was riding her bicycle along the roadway in Sophia when a speeding motorcycle slammed into her.

A Section D’ Sophia family has been thrown into mourning following the death of their 14-year-old daughter Makida Quick, who was a student of the Tucville Secondary School.

According to a Police statement, the teen was riding her bicycle along the roadway in Sophia when a speeding motorcycle slammed into her.

The motorcyclist, 21-year=old Glendon Redman was reportedly in a lying position on his motorcycle performing stunts on the roadway when he lost control and collided with the teenage girl.

The impact pitched the young girl into a nearby drain while the motorcyclist fell onto the roadway.

Both were picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Hospital where the teen girl was pronounced dead on arrival and the motorcyclist was admitted with injuries.

He is currently under Police guard as he recovers and is now likely to face a charge of causing death.

The investigations are ongoing.
