The 18-month-old toddler, Jaheem Rudder, who miraculously survived being shot multiple times to his tiny body as gunmen executed his father on Father’s Day, is recovering well along with his mother , who was also shot during the incident.

According to a statement from the Georgetown Hospital, toddler’s mother, Mawanza Gills recently disclosed that her son is doing well and “is eating and drinking as per norm”.

She however noted that he appears to be experiencing some discomfort in one of his legs where he was shot and is creeping now rather than walking.

The toddler was shot six times about the body; five times in the abdomen and once to his leg, is still in a bit of pain and as a result he is creeping instead of walking. The mother explained that he has been moving his leg more and she is convinced that he will walk again.

She praised the treatment the little boy received at the Georgetown Hospital and thanked the nurses and doctors at the Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Ward emphasizing that the medical professionals did a magnificent job on her son.

According to the Georgetown Hospital, the mother who was also shot seven times in her legs is doing fairly all right but she is still experiencing some amount of pain.  (Kaieteur News photo)
