Tragedy has once again struck the mining community of the North West District in Region One.
The Guyana Police Force reported today that it has launched an investigation into the murder of 19-year-old miner, Dalton Emanuel.
The young man was stabbed to death by another young man during an argument at Yarakita. The suspect is in Police Custody and is expected to be charged soon.
According to the Police report, the murder suspect used a scissors to repeatedly stab the 19-year-old to his abdomen.
Although the Guyana Police Force reports an overall decrease in crime, murders continue to rise. Guyana has recorded over 30 murders for this year already.
