$3 Million Reward for information on the murder of Henry Cousins and Haresh Singh

Appearing to have reached a dead end in the investigations of teenage cousins, Joel and Isaiah Henry and 17-year-old Haresh Singh, the Guyana Police Force today announced a $3 million reward for information that could lead to the arrest of suspects in the three murders.

In its statement, the Guyana Police Force said the investigations into the murders are ongoing and investigators are exploring every possible lead to bring the killers ot justice.

The mutilated bodies of Joel and Isaiah Henry were found in the Cotton Tree Backdam on the West Coast of Berbice on the 6th September after they went missing the day before.

A post mortem examination found that the two teens were badly beaten and chopped across their backs, severing their spine.

The murder of the cousins led to protests along the West Coast of Berbice.

On the same day that the post mortem was completed on the cousins, the body of the other teen, Haresh Singh was found in the #3 village backdam, West Coast Berbice. He was last seen alive the same morning. One of his relatives was initially arrested for questioning in relation to the murder of the teen cousins. That relative was released from custody eventually as there was no conclusive evidence tying him to the crime.

Last week, the Guyana Police Force received the results of DNA samples that were sent to St. Lucia for testing and according to relatives of the dead teens, they were told that the results do not link any of the persons who were arrested previously to the murders.

The Guyana Police Force is now seeking the public’s help to track down possible new suspects.
