Three months after she was charged with attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Guyana in hammocks, Guyhoc resident, Tiffany Collision was sentenced to three years and nine months in jail.

Additionally, she was fined $18.2 Million.

She was found guilty of the charge today by the Chief Magistrate and the sentence was handed down immediately.

In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate found that due to the evidence presented to the Court, a strong case was made out against the accused and facts proved that the woman had control of the drugs.

It was back on the 20th September, at DHL Shipping Company in Alberttown, that the woman had in her possession over 12 pounds of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

When she made her first appearance in Court she pleaded not guilty to the offence.

A video recording of the woman taking the package to the shipping company was obtained and a wanted bulletin was issued. She eventually surrendered to CANU and was charged.

Following her conviction today, the woman waived her middle finger to the press as she was being taken to the holding centre for transfer to the prison.
