A 31-year-old father of one became the country’s latest road accident victim on Tuesday night when a 4×4 pickup slammed into the bus that he was driving.
The dead man has been identified as Uriel Reynolds. The accident occurred just after 9pm along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
Reynolds was heading home to Linden when the speeding 4×4 pick-up that was being driven in the opposite direction slammed into a vehicle in front of him before slamming into the vehicle he was driving.
The young man was picked up at the scene in an unconscious state and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Eyewitnesses said both of his legs appeared to have been crushed by the impact of the collision and he also suffered multiple head injuries.
The driver of the 4×4 pick-up has since been arrested as the investigations into the matter are ongoing.
