The total number of active cases in the country stands at 475 with 409 of those persons in home isolation. There are still 13 persons in the Coronavirus Intensive Care Unit.

47 of 74 new COVID-19 cases are from Region 4

The number of covid-19 cases in the country continues to climb with 74 new cases being recorded yesterday from a total of 330 completed tests.

The majority of the new cases are from Region Four which recorded 47 new cases, that’s more than half of the number of new cases recorded yesterday.

The total number of active cases in the country stands at 475 with 409 of those persons in home isolation.  There are still 13 persons in the Coronavirus Intensive Care Unit.

The total number of cases recorded in Guyana since the start of the pandemic here is now 1029. 

Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony continues to encourage citizens to follow the health and safety guidelines and he has advised that it is still mandatory for persons to wear a face mask once in public. 

Failure to do so could result in charges that could lead to the payment of a fine and possible jail time.
