ACME GM found dead in office; No foul play suspected

The popular ACME Establishment and General Store in Georgetown has been plunged into mourning with the death of the company’s General Manager Sandra-dee Barker.

The 54-year-old woman’s body was found on the floor of her office at the corners of Regent and King Street this morning.

She was last seen alive in her office on Monday afternoon. It is suspected that she might have collapsed and died while at work the same evening, unknowing to her family and workmates.

A police report said the discovery was made this morning by one of the workers of the ACME General Store and immediately the Police and Emergency Services were contacted. She was pronounced dead at the scene

According to the Police, there were no marks of violence on the body and there were also no signs of breakage at the building.

In a Facebook post, one of the woman’s siblings said she was the eldest in the family. He noted that it was difficult for anyone to check on her because they would have been unable to gain access to the building because of the grillwork. He said some efforts were made yesterday to contact her by phone, but those efforts failed and not much was thought of it at the time.

Ms. Barker worked at the ACME Store for over two decades.
