According to a Police report, at around 6:45 Friday evening, 35-year-old driver, Clint Henry was driving motor car, PVV 9182, east along the Linden Soesdyke Highway at Amelia's Ward, when Simon crossed the road from north to south about 10 feet in front of the car.

Amelia’s Ward man dies after being hit down by sports car at Linden

The driver of a high-powered, sports car has been taken into custody in Linden following an accident at Amelia’s Ward yesterday afternoon, which left a 59-year-old man dead.

The dead man has been identified as Michael Simon of Amerlia’s Ward, Linden.

According to a Police report, at around 6:45 Friday evening, 35-year-old driver, Clint Henry was driving motor car, PVV 9182, east along the Linden Soesdyke Highway at Amelia’s Ward, when Simon crossed the road from north to south about 10 feet in front of the car.

The driver told investigators that he attempted to take evasive action, but still slammed into the pedestrian, who fell to the road.

The injured man, who was in an unconscious state, was taken to the Mackenzie Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A number of persons who may have been in the area at the time of the accident, are also being questioned. The probe continues.
