An early morning row in the East Coast Demerara village of Ann’s Grove has left a 21-year-old young man and his father dead in a case of murder-suicide.
The father’s reputed wife is currently hospitalised in a critical condition.
According to reports, the father, Leon Bobb began his rampage by attacking his son Seon Scott and repeatedly stabbing him. The young man died on the spot.
The 49-year-old man then stabbed his wife Sharon Scott repeatedly. He later ingested a poisonous substance and collapsed.
The killer dad and his reputed wife were both rushed to the hospital. The wife was taken to emergency surgery while the husband passed away while in the emergency room.
Police investigators were summoned to the area around 2 o’clock this morning after the father went berserk and carried out the deadly attack.
It is unclear what triggered the deadly attack, but persons in the area recalled that the man was abusive and had accused his wife of being unfaithful to him.
Villagers suspect that he might have attacked the wife first and turned his wrath on the son when the youth tried to stop him.
Investigations are ongoing.
