APNU Member of Parliament recovering well

Member of Parliament for A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Richard Allen continues to be monitored following his collapse in the National Assembly on Thursday.

Doctors believe High Blood Pressure may be the reason for his collapse. Medical sources say from all initial tests, there were no signs of any heart ailment and he is expected to make a full recovery. “There is no real cause for concern at this time”, a medical source confirmed.

Doctors who are Members of Parliament on both sides of the House rushed to the aid of the APNU Member after he collapsed during the budget debates this afternoon.

The sitting was put on hold while members of the press and the public were asked to leave the Parliamentary Chambers as Allen was being examined. He eventually regained consciousness and was taken by ambulance to the Georgetown Hospital.

When the sitting resumed, APNU and Opposition Leader David Granger stood to thank members from both the Peoples Progressive Party and APNU who offered assistance to Allen when he collapsed
