Asst. Superintendent remanded to jail over rape of 13-year-old girl

In Court today, the Police Prosecutor in the matter, did not object to bail, but Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs denied bail and remanded the Assistant Superintendent to prison until the 5th February when the matter will come up again for a hearing.  

Asst. Superintendent remanded to jail over rape of 13-year-old girl

A 31-year-old Assistant Superintendent of Police was shackled at the hands and feet today as he was taken to Court to face a rape charge.

The Police officer, Seecharran Singh, was today charged with the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

It is alleged that between the 17th and 18th June 2018, the man engaged in sexual activity with the child.

Because the case involves a minor, details cannot be reported.
