Bandits fall from motorbike and injured during getaway
Two gunmen who were making their escape from a robbery are under police guard at the Georgetown Hospital after they fell off of their speeding motorcycle and were arrested by police.
The two men who are under police guard at the Georgetown Hospital were taken there just after 2 o’ clock on Tuesday afternoon, moments after they held up and snatched a bag of money from an East Coast Woman who was returning from the bank.
According to the Police the woman was at her home at Cherry Field, LBI, ECD, when the two men rode up on a motorcycle with a firearm, and held her up.

They demanded a bag with cash that the woman had in her possession and as soon as she handed it over, they began their escape.  The woman’s husband was forced to retreat while rushing to her aid as the men open fire on him.
However, another relative jumped into his motorcar and gave chase behind the two men. The two robbers lost control and toppled off of their speeding motorcycle while trying to escape. They were accosted and held as the police arrived and arrested them. They were taken to the Georgetown Hospital with multiple injuries about their bodies. Some of the injuries might not have been as a result of their accident.

An unlicensed .32 revolver with 4 rounds and a spent shell, along with a quantity of the stolen cash have been recovered by the police. There are reports that one of the men is a member of the Coast Guard.
