An apprentice attached to the Bosai Bauxite company in Linden was killed on Wednesday morning at the mining site when he was hit down and crushed by a heavy-duty truck.
The dead worker has been identified as Bertram Pollard of Wismar. Details of the incident are sketchy.
Just three weeks back a Bosai worker was murdered at the mining site. That case still being investigated. Last year three Bosai workers were crushed to death when a heavy-duty truck drove over the pick up they were in at the mining site.
There have been concerns about occupational health and safety practices at the Bosai Bauxite company. Investigations into the latest incident are ongoing.
