Boutique owner, Ashaka King, stepped out of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court a free woman today with all of her “Pieces and Things” intact after the woman who accused her of stealing over $300,000 worth of Brazilian wigs and hair extensions, offered to no longer offer evidence in the case.
The 28-year-old businesswoman was charged back in April with allegedly carting off $300,000 worth of wigs from a business place that was shared with the complainant, Alana Lewis.
King had maintained her innocence during the first Court appearance and later went on a social media crusade to further prove her innocence.
In Court today, the Magistrate was told that the complainant no longer wanted the matter to continue.
King was represented by Attorney James Bond, who had claimed that the accusation of hair theft stemmed from King giving notice to the complainant to move from the premises, where they both operated their businesses. The premises was however leased by King.
