Cane Grove woman stabbed to death by husband during row

A marriage of 27 years came to a deadly end late last night when a Cane Grove man stabbed his wife to death and later attempted to take his own life.

44-year-old mother of six, Somattie Keosoram died from multiple stab wounds to the body and a slash to the neck. Her husband, Terrence Jackson who ran from the house after the incident, has since been arrested.

He was held by Police in the backdam at Cane Grove this morning as he made an attempt to take his own life.

The two recently moved back in with each other after the wife had walked away from their home because of constant abuse.

Last evening, the two reportedly got into an argument. During the row, the husband was told that he would have to sleep out of the room.

The couple’s daughter recounted that just when she thought the argument had ended, it was restarted and it was during a louder row that her father got a knife from the kitchen and attacked the mother.

The daughter attempted to fight the father off as he attacked the mother, but she bolted from the bloody scene as he turned his attention to her.

She was able to raise an alarm and that forced the father to run from the house as her mother bled to death.

The investigation by the Police is ongoing.
