Car used in Linden ambush execution found burnt on Blue lake road

Police investigators who are probing the Saturday night gunning down of Georgetown resident Delroy McKenzie at Wismar, have found a burnt grey Toyota car suspected to have been used in the execution.

In a statement this morning, the Police said the burnt-out and abandoned car was found along the Blue Lake access road at Kara Kara Mckenzie, Linden.

The discovery took place on Sunday afternoon, more than 12 hours after the shooting death took place.

The young Roxanne Burnham Gardens man and a friend traveled to Linden on Saturday evening to meet a young woman in the Wismar area.

The friend who survived with gunshot wounds to his arms told investigators that he was just there to accompany McKenzie to meet the young woman.

He claimed that after they arrived in Linden, they were given directions to the Wismar shore and later told by the woman that she had sent a grey car to pick them up.

The survivor said as they approached the car, three men emerged and opened fire, killing Mckenzie on the spot and injuring the friend.

Police investigators are following several leads in the probe.
