CHPA Offering 50% Republic Jubilee discount for allocated house lots

In celebration of Guyana’s 50th Republic Jubilee, the Central Housing and Planning Authority today announced that house lot applicants who were allocated land between October last year and February this year, will enjoy a 50% discount in the cost for the land.

Only persons allocated land for residential purposes are eligible for the promotion and the cost of the land must be under $2.5 million.

Minister responsible for Housing, Annette Ferguson, told reporters today that the offer will run for three months beginning on the 1st March.

She said the Ministry has noticed that some persons are taking a little long to begin payments for their allocated plots and start construction.

Ferguson is hoping that with the offer from Central Housing and Planning, the money that the allottees will save with the cost for the land, could now go towards the start of construction.

Eligible house lot owners will have to visit the Central Housing and Planning Authority to apply for the offer and work out a payment plan.

A similar offer was made when Guyana celebrated its 50th Independence anniversary back in 2016.
