According to the Ministry of Health, there are five persons in the coronavirus intensive care unit. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 623 with 591 of those persons in home isolation.

COVID-19 deaths climb to 207

A 71-year-old man from Region 4 became the country’s latest COVID-19 related death on Saturday, as announced by the Ministry of Health.

The total number of deaths in Guyana has now climbed to 207 with 9 of those deaths being recorded in the past 13 days.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are five persons in the coronavirus intensive care unit. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 623 with 591 of those persons in home isolation.

In the past week, Guyana has recorded more than 250 new COVID-19 cases.

Health officials continue to warn persons against large gatherings, while encouraging them to continue to santitize.

On Friday night, a number of bar owners in Georgetown and patrons were arrested have they were found breaching the curfew and other COVID-19 guidelines.
