Guyana has recorded two more coronavirus related death, taking the total number of deaths to 151.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, a six-day-old baby from Region 3 and a 31-year-old woman from Region 10 are the latest fatal victims of the disease.

Meanwhile, a total of 66 new cases were recorded this past weekend. There are now more than 850 active cases in the country, with 782 of those persons in home isolation. 

Many persons and businesses continue to flout the covid-19 regulations, with bars and nightspots reopening their doors and keeping them open past the curfew hours. Law enforcement appears to be turning a blind eye to many of the breaches.
