The Coronavirus death toll in Guyana jumped to 225 today with four deaths being recorded in the past 24 hours.

Three of the four persons who passed away lived in Region 4, which continues to see the highest rate of COVID-19 infections in the country. All four of the latest COVID-19 related deaths were patients in the ICU of the Infectious Diseases Hospital. They were all over the age of 60.

Since the start of this month, Guyana has recorded more than 1200 new Coronavirus cases and 28 deaths in the past 24 days.

The latest data from the Ministry of Health revealed 78 new cases of the disease being recorded in the past 24 hours. More than 40 of those new cases are from Region 4.
