The Guyana Police Force is currently probing the death of a 33-year-old whose lifeless and decomposed body was fished out of the Canje creek, days after he went missing.

Dead is Joachim Peters, who worked as a Labourer. He is originally from Friendship, East Bank Demerara.

 It is suspected that the man might have fallen into the creek on Friday evening and was unable to make it out.

Investigators have so far been unable to verify whether there were any marks of violence on the body, because of its decomposed state.

The body is at a funeral home in the Berbice area, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
