Devastated family members left confused over execution-style murder of Sophia man

Police investigators are reviewing CCTV video footage that they hope could lead to the arrest of a suspect in the late-night execution of Ministry of Health driver and Sophia resident Collin McPherson.

The 43-year-old man was shot dead on Thursday night at his D Field, Sophia home, who attacked him in front of his children and relatives who dashed for cover.

A Police statement said McPherson was sitting to the front of his yard on a bench when the gunman walked up to him and opened fire.

Although being shot, he was able to run into his house but was followed by the gunman who shot him two more times while his family members ran for safety.

The gunman who was wearing a blue face mask ran from the scene just after, and McPherson was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Technicians who were summoned to the home.

The execution-style murder has left the man’s family shocked and confused.

They said they are unaware of why he would be attacked and executed by anyone. One of the man’s daughters said everything happened quickly and those who were at home started to run from the time they heard the first gunshot.

They are hoping for a thorough investigation and also want the Police to investigate every lead.
