A Diamond Housing Scheme man is expected to appear in Court today after he was busted with over $300,000 dollars in counterfeit  $5000 notes.

The man was held in the Stabroek market area with the counterfeit bills on Saturday during an intelligence led operation by the Guyana police force.

He has been identified as 23 year old Alston Pires. Although he has been arrested and will be charged today, the probe into the counterfeit money is ongoing, with the Police trying to see if others might be involved in its production and distribution.
