Screams of despair filled the air this evening along Durban Street as a young mother of two was brutally stabbed to death by her lover.
The dead woman has been identified as 32-year-old Nicola Wilson.
Eyewitnesses said the woman and her lover, who has been identified only as “Lawrence”, were having an argument moments after she returned home.
During the argument, neighbours said the man was seen hitting on the woman and she pushed him out of the backdoor. The man was then seen armed with a knife stabbing the woman to her face and chest.
One eyewitness said as the woman collapsed on the verandah and neighbours raised an alarm, the man ran from the house and escaped in his car.
The knife was left stuck in her chest.
The entire incident was also witnessed by the woman’s 14-year-old son who has been left traumatized. Police investigators are on the hunt for the suspect.
