East Bank closed to heavy duty trucks during rush hour

The Guyana Police Force has announced that inn efforts to ease the traffic congestion and to facilitate the ongoing road construction along the East Bank Demerara corridor, heavy duty trucks and tractors and trailers will not be permitted to traverse the road during the rush hour.

 In a statement the Police Force said beginning Monday November 4, motor lorries and container trucks, tractors and trailers will not be permitted to traverse the East Bank Public Road from 7 to 9 in the morning and in the afternoon between 3 and 5 o’ clock.

The traffic rush hour restriction will run from Monday to Friday of every week  until further notice.

Traffic officers are expected to be out to ensure that the heavy duty vehicles including those sand trucks and container trucks are not found being driven along the roadway during the restricted hours in the morning and afternoon.
