Police are investigating the death of a 57 year old West Coast Demerara man who was found in his home on Sunday morning with several wounds to his body.
The dead man has been identified as Jamaludeen Sattaur of Stewartville, West Coast Demerara. His wife made the discovery when she returned home on Sunday morning from her all night job as a security guard in Georgetown.
The man was found one of the rooms of the house with wounds to his head and upper body. The home showed signs of break and entry and it was also ransacked.
Police believe that the elderly man may have come face to face with thieves who broke into the house. The investigation is ongoing.
