Three years after a woman was attacked and raped in her home, the mechanic charged for the brutal crime has been found guilty.

48-year-old Dingo Emmanuel was found guilty today of raping the 36-year-old woman in her Region 7 home.  He broke into the woman’s house and attacked her in her bedroom.

During the trial, the Court heard that it was on the 11^th August 2018 that the woman arrived at her house and was attacked by Emmanuel who had broken into the house and was waiting in her bedroom.

Moments into his attack, the woman’s husband arrived home and managed to wrestle the man away. Emmanuel managed to escape but was later caught and charged.

The case wrapped up today before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Suddie High Court. 

The Judge has set the 7^th January for sentencing.
