An Ex-Cop who was recently arrested following a massive investigation into carjacking gangs, made another Court appearance today, this time he was charged for receiving stolen cars. 

26-year-old, Jason Harry, of Monument Hill, Kuru Kururu stood before Principal Magistrate, Judy Latchman and denied all of the allegations made against him.

The court heard that between the 8th December, 2017 and the 10th February, 2018 at Georgetown, he received one Fielder Wagon, knowing that it was feloniously obtained or unlawfully obtained.

Additionally, it was further alleged that between 15th December 2017 and the 10th February 2018, he obtained one Toyota Spacio motocar, knowing that it was also feloniously taken or unlawfully obtained.

It was further noted to the Court that on three other occasions, between August of 2017 and February 2018, the ex-cop obtained three other cars knowing that those cars were stolen.

Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore immediately objected to bail based on the fact there is a major investigation ongoing and there is fear that Harry may tamper with another accused, who is currently on the run.

He further noted that Harry was arrested after police swamped down on a location in the Kuru Kururu area and found the cars at his home along with a large sum of car parts.

Later those cars were identified by their owners, while the police are now trying to identify the cars of which the parts belong to.

He was represented by Attorney Dexter Todd, who chose not to make any statement on behalf of his client at the moment.

After assessing the facts of the matter, the Magistrate bail in the sum of $200,000 on each charge.

He was ordered to return to Court on April 12th.

However, he will remain in custody since he is currently on remand on a robbery charge.
