Former drug trafficking accused back in Court for another drug trafficking charge

Four months after being set free for one set of drug trafficking charges, a Charlestown man was back in Court again today to face a new marijuana possession charge.

38-year-old, Colin Denny, appeared before the Chief Magistrate this morning and immediately entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of being in possession of more than five pounds of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The charge sheet read that on the 26th September at Church Street, Georgetown, Denny was busted by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit with the marijuana in a bag.

He was allegedly about to make a handover of the illegal item when the bust was made.

CANU investigators have indicated that there is video evidence of the bust.

In Court, the accused would only enter the not guilty plea and had nothing more to say. He was remanded to jail until the 15th October.

Earlier this year, the man escaped a drug trafficking conviction after he was jointly charged with a woman in a 126 pound marijuana bust. In that case, the marijuana was found stashed in two gas cylinders.
