Former murder accused “whistle”, wanted for Privilege nightclub shooting

Police investigators are seeking the public’s help in locating a former murder accused, who they are convinced is the person who fired shots inside the Privilege nightclub two weeks ago, injuring two persons.

Deputy Commander for A’ Division, Senior Superintendent  Calvin Brutus, on Tuesday told News Source that investigators now have additional evidence that clearly links Leon Duncan aka “whistle” to the shooting incident.

He did not go into additional details, but said the Force would appreciate the public’s help in locating the man’s whereabouts.

News Source understands that investigators have been able to enhance the video recording from inside the nightclub on the night of the shooting. It is the recording that has allowed them to finger “whistle” in the incident.

Just last February, the Festival City, Georgetown man was freed on a murder charge after a jury found him not guilty. He had been accused of murdering Cool Square Hotel owner, Imtiaz Roopnarine.

In September last year, he was rearrested by Police investigators as they launched a probe into the shooting death of a 19-year-old man outside the Rio nightclub.  Insufficient evidence in that matter forced the investigators to let “whistle” go after they held him for 72 hours.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts should contact the nearest police station.

Earlier this month, investigators were forced to visit the Privilege nightclub at the Tower Hotel after two persons were shot during a confrontation between two other men.
