Early Budget estimates for several Constitutional Agencies for the 2017 fiscal year have already been prepared and were presented to the National Assembly on Thursday.

The presentation of the estimates for the financially autonomous agencies came ahead of the official presentation of the 2017 National Budget, which is slated for December.

The National Assembly is expected to debate the current and capital expenditures and give approval before the 2017 budget is read and debated.

The total current expenditure proposed by the Constitutional Agencies is $10.224 Billion and total capital expenditure as proposed is 1.067 Billion.

That combined will put the total forecast of the Constitutional Agencies for the year 2017 at $11.291 Billion.

The government has also made allocations for the non-functioning Ethnic Relations Commission pending the imminent appointment of staff members.

Supreme Court of Judicature

Office of the Ombudsman
Public Service Appellate Tribunal
Ethnic Relations Commission
Judicial Services Commission
Indigenous People’s Commission
Human Rights Commission
Rights of the Child Commission
Women and Gender Equality Commission

The 2017 national budget as promised by the administration is expected to be presented in December.
