Hurricane Dorian which was dubbed as the second-strongest Atlantic storm on record, battered northern Bahamas with massive waves, torrential rain and sustained winds. Massive destruction including the demise of homes, vehicles and the electric infrastructure remain crippled in its wake.

Guyana has joined the rest of the CARICOM and other countries in organising various relief efforts to assist the affected islands of The Bahamas.

GTT said individuals can continue to send their donations until the end of September.

Monies received from the public will be presented to the Civil Defense Commissions that is spearheading Guyana’s relief assistance.
