Guyanese couple die in fiery vehicle accident in New York

A Guyanese couple lost their lives early this morning in a fiery accident in New York.

The two dead persons have been identified as 45-year-old Travis Williams and 35-year-old Shenella Braithwaite.

The accident occurred just after 1 o’clock this morning in Suffolk County, New York.

A New York Police report said the Land Rover SUV was being driven by Travis Williams at a high rate of speed when he lost control and veered off of the road, slamming into a tree.

The impact of the collision resulted in the car bursting into flames.  Emergency services responded within minutes.  While the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the passenger, Shennela Braithwaite passed away at a nearby hospital.

The Police said the investigations are underway into the deadly early morning crash.

On social media, family and friends of the two victims paid tribute to them and the lives they both lived.
