The Vice President’s latest denial follows the airing of the Vice News investigative story on alleged acts of corruption in Guyana, titled Guyana for sale.

Jagdeo to sue Su over statements to Vice News

Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo is continuing to deny allegations by Chinese businessman Su Zhirong that bribes would have to be paid to the Vice President to guarantee business dealings in Guyana.

In a statement to the Stabroek News, Mr. Jagdeo is quoted as saying “I am going to take legal action against him because he is damaging my reputation”.

Mr. Jagdeo also said Mr. Su will be evicted from the property that he rented from him.

The news segment was aired on Sunday on the Showtime network and featured a hidden camera operation with undercover persons posing as Chinese investors.

In one part of the story, the Chinese businessman, Su Zhirong who rents a house from the Vice President and lives just next door to him, is seen taking the undercover investor inside Mr. Jagdeo’s home and meeting with Mr. Jagdeo himself.

The entire meeting was captured on a hidden camera.

In another part of the report, the Chinese businessman details to the undercover investor how alleged bribes would have to be paid to the Vice President.

Mr. Jagdeo has repeatedly denied the allegations of bribe-taking and is now threatening to sue the Chinese businessman and evict him from his property.
