A Kuru Kuru woman believed to be in her mid 20’s was found dead on Saturday at her home at Kuru Kuru on the Linden Soesdyke Highway. The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Shaneeza Ramdat.

According to the police,  the woman was stabbed multiple times to her body by her reputed husband who reportedly attempted suicide. The identity of the man has not been released.

He was found with a slit to this neck and it is suspected that he may have also ingested a poisonous substance. He was rushed to the Georgetown hospital where he remains listed in a critical condition.

It is unclear what led to the incident but reports suggest the two may have been involved in a heated argument when the young woman was attacked. Investigators were at the scene of the crime speaking to persons in the area on Saturday afternoon.
