28-year-old Dwayne Tappin was today sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole only after serving 40 years.
A few weeks ago, Tappin was found guilty of the 2017 murder of his uncle, Randolph Seenauth.
Justice Sandel Kissoon handed down the life sentence today after listening to a probation report.
The report painted the convict as a good citizen who would only have issues with other persons when he was under the influence of alcohol.
The Judge said the murder appeared premeditated from all the evidence before the Court and he also noted that the convict showed no remorse for the crime and for that, the life in prison sentence was handed down.
Tappin attacked and killed his uncle by chopping him about the body, severing the man’s head.
While leaving the Court today to begin his life sentence, the convict blurted out “Freedom is a must”.
