Well known Linden mini-bus driver and Pastor, Elvin Lorrimer, of Carter Street, Kara Kara, Linden, died early this morning while receiving treatment to gunshot wounds that he sustained during an apparent robbery.

The incident took place late on Monday night at the Linden/Georgetown Mini-bus park in Georgetown.

The 53-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot by two armed men who reportedly pulled up alongside his mini-bus while he was getting passengers to make his trip back to Linden.

The men reportedly rode off on a motorcycle after the shooting.  Persons who were in the area reported hearing the gunshots and seeing Lorrimer on the ground with bullet wounds to his upper body.

At the Georgetown Hospital, doctors rushed him into surgery but he succumbed to his injuries just before 1 o’ clock this morning.

Lorrimer is well known all across the Linden community. He worked as a mini-bus driver for more than two decades, traversing the busy Linden/Soesdyke highway and was well liked by his customers and other drivers.  He mostly worked the late afternoon and late night shifts.

He has left to mourn his wife, children and a grandson.
