Linden man perishes in accident after swerving from child on highway

According to an eyewitness, the man swerved to avoid hitting a child who was on the roadway, when he lost control of the vehicle and it toppled.

An accident along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway on Monday afternoon has claimed the life of a well-known Linden resident. Dead is 45 – year – old Rawle Adams of Constabulary Compound, Linden.

‘E’ Division Commander, Senior Superintendent Calvin Brutus, told News Source that the accident occurred around 3:00pm, just outside Linden at Bamia along the highway.

Adams was driving the vehicle heading to Linden along with his two sons, allegedly at a fast rate, when he ran off the road. His two sons were reportedly flung from the vehicle and are now hospitalised.

Brutus said according to an eyewitness, the man swerved to avoid hitting a child who was on the roadway, when he lost control of the vehicle and it toppled.

He received injuries about the body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex. Adams leaves to mourn his wife and  children along with other relatives
