A 22-year-old Linden woman was stabbed to death on Sunday night by her ex-boyfriend who was not happy that she had broken off their relationship and was moving on with her life.
The woman, Kelly Charlotte, worked as a teacher in Linden.
On Sunday night, she was at home with her sister when the suspect 28-year-old truck driver Leston Baynes turned up at the house to return the couple’s young child.
The man attacked the 22-year-old just as she opened the door. The Police said she screamed out for her sister who ran to her assistance and noticed the man stabbing her. He escaped from the area as the sister rushed the young woman to the hospital.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden hospital and her body bore multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen area.
A search was launched for the suspect. Police investigators are asking for anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the nearest Police station.
